The hallowed ground of Paint Rock Farm has long had a deep connection to healing and natural remedies. Petroglyphs from 2500 BC, signifying the reverence for the nearby restorative hot spring water, can be found on a rock face at the edge of the 162 acre property. Bordered by the protected view shed of Pisgah National Forest and 111 acres of a conservation easement, the farm is cradled by wild nature and peaceful waters. With miles of hiking trails and 30 acres of meadows and pastures, the farm offers opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts, as well as those interested in our hemp production.
Following indigenous use by the Cherokee Nation, the land was cultivated to support a growing family and community. Our 3200 square foot barn was originally built over seven decades ago to cure tobacco and now, being fully restored, serves as a beautiful space for weddings or events. Paint Rock Farm Hemp began in 2019 with the intent to revive the agriculture of the farm by investing our tangible energy into producing plants that restore health and wellness.
Paint Rock Farm Hemp is licensed by the USDA for cultivation of hemp that is used in the creation of medicinal CBD products. Recognized worldwide for its therapeutic properties, CBD has been proven effective as an anti-inflammatory, anti-seizure, anti-anxiety and sleep aid, among many other various benefits. Paint Rock Farm was built to provide a place for rejuvenation and healing; growing organically, produce and plant medicines naturally aligns with this intention. Currently, we have select products available in the farm store. Keep an eye out for our upcoming Hemp and Farm focused events where you can learn and experience more about our farm!
In addition to growing and educating about hemp, we also produce a wide variety of organically grown fruits, vegetables, and herbs. We donate a large quantity of what we grow to our local community partners, what we don’t donate you can find for sale in our farm store! And don’t forget to visit our farm animals — we have a beautiful flock of laying chickens (look for farm fresh eggs in the store!) and two lovable pigs who help us tend our gardens and close our food loops. They’re all very friendly and love to entertain our guests.
